Baby vests too - different knits, sleeves, appliques, even starting from the bottom or from the top ... Yes, I'm not mistaken, read correctly: The baby vest can start from the bottom up and from the top down.
TOP-DOWN TECHNIQUE - WHAT IS NEEDED
You can knit a baby vest at 3-6, 6-9 and 9-12 months. Depending on the age, the stitches are different in number.
It seems appropriate to tell here how to knit a cardigan for the little ones - babies from 3 to 6 months. Their standard chest circumference is 51 cm.
Get caught! You need a hoop or straight needles № 3 (socks), an etamine needle, 6 to 8 buttons (don't wonder how long they will be) and of course yarn. You know there's a special one for baby knits - well, use one. The model I am telling you about has tulip applications - it will make you a little more springy and cheerful. Yarn colors: green - 2-3 balls of 50 g (for the base of the vest, stems and leaves of tulips), brown - 1-2 balls of 50 g (for the background of the garden of tulips), and 1 ball beige (for outlining the garden) and yellow or red or whatever color are your favorite tulips (for colors).
You will knit the vest from top to bottom, starting with an elastic band around the neck.
KNITTING A BABY VEST IN PARTS
CARD
With the green yarn dial 79 stitches and knit 7 rows of elastic, knitting 1 front and 1 back. In the next row, knit only opaque stitches. Tie the brown yarn and knit 2 rows of facial knitting. In the next row, add evenly 16 stitches as follows: 2 facial, 5 facial allowance. Repeat 5 facial 14 more times, 2 facial allowance - the total number in the row is: 95. Continue with 1 row of facial knitting and in the next row add 28 stitches evenly as follows: 7 facial, 3 facial facial allowance, repeat 3 facial pressure 26 times, allowance 7 facial. The stitches in the row become 123.
In the next row of ropes, tie the red (yellow) thread and start with the tulips - 12 pieces. Do not forget an additional 1-2 stitches before the beginning of the first and after the end of the last tulip, so that they can be centered on the board. After the tenth row knit 1 row in brown and continue with the same color, in the next row add 28 stitches as follows: 8 facial, 4 facial allowance, repeat 4 facial overlay 26 times, 1 overlay, 7 facial. Total in the row are: 151. Continue with three rows of smooth (facial) knit and in the next row add another 17 stitches as follows: 3 facial, 1 extra 9 facial, repeat 1 extra 9 facial 15 times, 1 extra 4 facial. Total: 168 stitches.
In the next reverse row, turn on the beige color and start knitting zigzag - 42 repetitions. After the fourth row knit 1 row in green by dividing the stitches and put markers as follows: 24 packs, marker, 36 packs, marker, 48 packs, marker, 36 packs, marker, 24 packs.
In the next and in 5 more front rows, bid for the raglan, knitting as follows: front to the marker, 1 mark, move the marker, 1 mark, repeat. A total of 216 stitches.
BODY - BACK AND FRONT TOGETHER
In the next front row, divide the stitches for the back and front and for the sleeves as follows: Knit front to the first marker, transfer the stitches between the first and second marker on a thread or other hoop, knit front to the third marker, transfer the stitches between the third and fourth marker on an additional thread or hoop, knit facial to the end. Continue only the main part of the vest (body) with a smooth knit, up to a length of 24 cm from the beginning of knitting. Then knit 12 rows of elastic and you're done.
SLEEVES
If you have strung the sleeve stitches on a thread, transfer them to a hoop or sock needles and knit back and forth or in a circle. On the back and forth, in the starting row, add 1 stitch on each side for sewing. Knit 12 rows of sock knit. In the next (front) row knit as follows: 1 front, bend to the left, front to the last three, bend to the right, 1 front. Continue with 11 rows without twists. Repeat the last 12 rows (the first with folds and 11 knit equally) 3 more times. The sleeve is now 15 cm from the armpit. If necessary, knit a few more rows of facial knit without twists. In the next row, make folds to switch to knitting an elastic band on the sleeve as follows: 4 front, bend to the right, repeat this until the end of the row. With the stitches obtained on the needles, knit 8 rows of elastic 1: 1 and you're done.
BEATS OF THE ANCESTORS
On the edge of the left front from every 4 rows take out 3 stitches and string them on the hoop. Knit 8 rows of elastic. The bead for sewing the buttons is ready.
