Bust - 35.5” (90cm)

Length- 15.5” (40cm)

 

Abbreviations:

  • St (s) - stitch(es)

  • ch- chain

  • sc- single crochet

  • dc - double crochet

  • hdc - half-double crochet

  • Picot stitch- ch3 and sl st into the stitch below

  • Sl st - slip stitch

  • () - combination of stitches that are made in the same stitch

  • Sk - skip

  • Rep ** - repeat from * to *

 

Notes:

  • The top is worked with two strands of yarn

  • The size is easily adjustable - the length of the foundation chain matches the length of the top itself whereas the number of rows matches the width of the top. Please note that you may need more yarn depending on the modifications you make.

  • The number of rows for both panels is the same

  • If you’re making changes regarding the width - please add/ subtract an even number of rows

  • Ch 1 at the beginning of a row doesn’t count as a stitch

  • Ch 2 at the beginning of a row doesn’t count as a stitch

 

 

Front panel:

Ch 60+2(counts as a first hdc)

R1:hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each st across, turn (6hdc)

R2-6: ch1, hdc in each st across, turn

R7-34: ch1, hdc in next 30 sts, turn

The stitches that are left unworked form the neck hole - it can be made higher and respectively lower by leaving less or more stitches unworked. Please note that in the number of chains you make in R35 should match the number of stitches you leave unworked in R7)

 

R35: ch1, hdc in the next 30 sts, ch32, turn

R36: hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each st across, turn (60hdc)

R37-41: ch1, hdc in each st across, turn

cut off yarn and weave in the ends

 

Back panel:

Ch 60+ 2 (counts as the first hdc)

R1: hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in each st across, turn (60hdc)

R2-41: ch1, hdc in each st across, turn

cut off yarn and weave in the ends

 

Sew the front to the back panel leaving arm holes

 

Edging around the neck:

Make sure your work is the right side out

Join your yarn into the middle stitch on the back

Ch1, sc in the same space, sc in the next 9 sts, picot stitc, *10sc,picot stitch* till you reach the first sc, sl st to the first sc

cut off yarn and weave in the ends

 

Edging at the bottom of the top

Make sure your work is the right side out

Join your yarn into the middle stitch on the back

Ch2, (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in the same space, sk 2, *(2dc,ch2,2dc) in next st, sk2*, rep ** till you reach the first dc, sl st to the first dc.

cut off yarn and weave in the ends
