The Pantone Color Institute has announced "Peach Fuzz" as the Color of the Year for 2024. This warm shade, situated between pink and orange, is described as "gentle, warm, and cozy, subtly sensual and heartfelt," reflecting "our need for compassion and human connection in the coming year."
A color palette expert depicted the new year's hue as a "velvety peach tone," symbolizing "our desire to nourish ourselves and others" and whose "inclusive spirit enriches the mind, body, and soul."
The color evokes a vintage mood, yet is also fresh and light, sensitive and sweet, nostalgic, often feminine, quietly refined, gentle, and tactile. According to Leatrice Eiseman, a color specialist at Pantone, Peach Fuzz creates a mood and sensation of gentleness and tactility. Laurie Pressman, Vice President of Pantone, states that the selected color for 2024 "resonates with compassion, offers a tactile embrace, and effortlessly connects youthfulness with timelessness."
